Originally from Nashik, India, Rushikesh holds civil engineering (B.S.), urban planning (M.S.), and filmmaking (M.F.A.) degrees. He earned his M.F.A. in Filmmaking from the New York Film Academy. With a diverse background and passion for filmmaking, Rushikesh specializes as a Director, Cinematographer, and Editor; enabling him to play crucial roles in the production of several feature films, shorts, music videos, documentaries, and web-series.
Growing up, Rushikesh spent most of his time mountaineering, planting trees, rescuing animals, and volunteering for NGOs. He is also known for his achievements as an international long distance swimmer, such as ranking in the top ten for swimming the world’s longest distance (81kms). His experiences motivate him to consistently focus on creating content that will benefit the society in various ways.
Rushikesh’s directorial debut, Rift/दुही, his award-winning shorts including Spice Affair, Simon Says, and Vows to Wow, and his fashion music video with Sunny Leone all demonstrate a unique perspective that is both technically and financially sound. While achieving awards and certifications in different disciplines, he continues to pursue his dream of entertaining and educating audiences all over the world.
